Judicial and Administrative Institution Visit at Theni District

From April 15th to April 17th, 2024, a comprehensive visit was conducted to various judicial and administrative institutions in Theni district, Tamil Nadu by the Department of Business as a Part of Course Plan for the students who are studying Court visit, Chamber Visit, Lok adalat, Legal Aid subject.

*Law Enforcement:*

The visit commenced with an insightful tour of B1 and B2 Police Stations in Theni, where the dedicated officers briefed on their operations and community engagement efforts on 15th of April 2024

*Judiciary:*

The delegation then proceeded to meet with the Principal District Judge at the District Court. Discussions by Dr. Ravi Kumar(Chief Adminitrative Officer of theni District) encompassed legal procedures, case management, and the integration of technology in the judicial process. A visit to the Consumer Court and Manila Court provided further insight into the adjudication of consumer disputes and the resolution of civil matters.

*Specialized Courts:*

The delegation also visited courts specializing in POCSO (Protection of Children from Sexual Offences) and NDPS (Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances) cases, highlighting the district's commitment to addressing sensitive legal issues with diligence and sensitivity on 16th of April 2024.

*Social Welfare:*

Interactions with the Juvenile Welfare Board, Rehabilitation Centre, and Family Board shed light on efforts to safeguard the rights and well-being of vulnerable populations, including juveniles, victims of abuse, and families in need of support on 16th of April 2024.

*Economic Development:*

Meetings with the MSME Board showcased initiatives to promote entrepreneurship and support small and medium-sized enterprises, fostering economic growth and employment opportunities in the region on 17th of April 2024.

*Agricultural and Health Services:*

Discussions with the Agricultural Department of Tamil Nadu highlighted strategies for enhancing agricultural productivity and rural livelihoods. Similarly, engagements with the Health Service Department of Theni underscored the importance of accessible healthcare services and disease prevention measures in the district on 17th of April 2024.

Overall, the visit provided valuable insights into the multifaceted efforts of Theni district's law enforcement, judiciary, social welfare agencies, and administrative bodies in promoting justice, welfare, and sustainable development.
